Tof-240110-eric

Repairs are nearly finished on The Gaping Maw. Crawn and I are recruiting the last of the crew for our voyage to hunt The Kraken.
1. We are approached by a number of bad options, but I dismiss them
2. We recruit Ell and Milhouse.
  1. Milhouse seems like a strange one, but claims to have saved the world ~13.5 times in the last week, so maybe he's better than he seems
- We hear our Lionen friend, Coal , shouting “Give me back my boy!” down the docks
- He hurls his hammer, which seems to explode on impact
  - I tell Crawn to grab a few good ones and come help me
    - I don't want to see that #Lionen kid in danger again
      - His leg seems to be broken
        
        He says “those bastards stole Slate!” and indicates which way they went
        
        Some other crews are also coming along, wanting to know which way we're going
        
        I suspect they're going to be doubling back, and am planning to go another way
Ell shapeshifts into a dog, and starts trying to track by scent
- Drex decides to stay and look after Coal and make sure he's okay
  - The rest of us follow Ell
After a while, I notice some suspicious cultist looking people off to the south but the scent leads off in another direction
- I have Crawn and Ell continue to follow the scent, while Milhouse and I go after the ones I spotted
  - We overhear them talking in a language I don't understand, but Milhouse apparently does as he sort of shouts back to them
    - These just seem to be rabble, so we circle back to catch up with the others
When we catch up, I see Crawn holding onto the roof of a building with one hand, with Ell in dog form in her other arm, as the ladder she was on has been kicked out from under her
- I run to grab the ladder, but notice cultists on the roof attempting to perform some murdering of my crew
  - Crawn is able to get herself and Ell up on the roof, so I set the ladder and climb it
    - We fight the cultists
      - When they die, there is some kind of portal opened that sucks their body into it and causes some damage to those nearby
        
        One of the cultists falls off the roof, I have Milhouse capture him
        
        We manage to save the baby #Lionen though!
Drex and Coal manage to catch up to us
- We hand the baby back to him
  - The cultist we captured has been saying that we're essentially playing into their plan
    - I check what he's carrying and find a note
      - The note indicates that these guys were a distraction
We hear an explosion from down south, near the home of Tedrick Graime
1. I send Milhouse with the prisoner to the docks to warn the crew still aboard The Gaping Maw
  1. I give him explicit orders to NOT take the prisoner aboard
    1. We hear four other explosions, for a total of five
      
      The rest of us book it to Tedrick Graime's place
