The oldest continent, and the supposed heart of the civilized world, Arda is home to thirty four nations, most of which are located centrally.

Not all of the land in Arda is claimed, and there are some less hospitable and wild regions which are only populated by outlanders who either do not wish to live in the more civilized places, or who have been exiled or are otherwise in hiding and cannot return to civilization. The outlands are considered dangerous, either because of the treacherous terrain and weather, or the people who call those areas home.

The southern-most region is hot and humid, consisting of a mix of swampland and thick jungle. The southern reaches are populated by scattered villages, and due to the natural barriers of The Wilderfont and The Croaker's Spine, no kingdom has expressed interest in trying to tame or otherwise colonize those wilds.

On the opposite end of the continent, just south of the sprawling kingdom of Kamangara and stretching west, the frigid expanse is largely composed of desolate high dessert, the glacier covered mountains of The Northern Ice Fields, and coniferous forests that are cold, dense, and dark and rumored to be filled with monsters.
