+So for a while I've been trying to figure out how Drex feels about everything that has happened. When Varanuk answered his call and saved Cerelia I think he sees this as a sign that Varanuk approves of the crew and the direction they are going. He believes that Varanuk showing their presence was actually a sign, more than just helping Cerelia.
+However, with the tip of the blade inside of him, he has always kind of felt that perhaps the cultists were tracking the crew through it. He thinks that the reason it causes him pain is when they are trying to scry through him and his body is struggling to fend them off.
+Initially the incident with the monster ship made him fear that he is drawing these monster to the ship. While the crew was ashore with Johen's crew, Drex was resting and meditating, taking in Avercrombie's words.
+He has come to the realization that it is impossible that the mimic wasn't able to absolutely shred him apart. That something within him saved him. Focethas being there and saving him confused him and tore into his heart. Now he believes that it was the will of Varanuk that saved him, turning the image of his sister being picked apart into something light and playful with the <boop> that saved him.
+Drex initially approached the leaders of The Gaping Maw to discuss the removal of blade tip for fear that he is drawing the Kraken's minions to them.  While meditating he realized he is not the only one aboard the ship with relics from the Kraken that could be tracked as well. Also, he can now cast Scrying (will need to acquire and expensive component, but can do it eventually) and with Karth is still on the lose and known to be possibly higher in the cultists ranks he wants to use the blade piece inside him to hunt them down.
+Drex has spent most of his life seeking the mightiest of storms and was recently graced by the god of storms themselves. The Kraken and cultists trying to us Focethas against him has enraged him. I think he is now seeing himself truly as a  conduit of Varanuk at this point, that he is blessed and the will of Varanuk is to bring the wrath of the heavens and storms to the Kraken.
+So I guess in short, he's pissed at the cultists, where as before he was like "this is bad and I must help to stop it" now it's personal. He believes that not only was he fated to be here with the crew, but clearly it is the will of his god to be here, that this is his purpose in life.
