- We prepare to engage the enemies
	- [[Ell]] casts Pass Without Trace on all of us, and we're able to sneak into position
		- [[Drex]] sets the dragon free, but it doesn't want to fight
			- That's understandable
				- I sneak up to a cultist and get ready
- We initiate the fight with surprise on our side
	- [[Drex]] casts Bless on me
		- [[Ell]] casts Spike Growth to keep too many friends from joining the party at once
			- We kill two, and I move over to the other side of the room
				- We manage to kill the ones there too, I have to chase one down
					- I notice that they're trying to summon _something,_ and it appears the magic is tied to the life force of one of the leaders
						- If we kill him before stopping the ritual, it will make the summoning happen faster
- I have [[Drex]] cast dispel magic on the summoning, which seems to work
	- We manage to finish off the last one before the summoning is complete
- There's a dog in one of the cages that looks like it has some kind of disease
	- I try using Lay on Hands, but it only seems to make the dog afraid of me and doesn't cure its disease
		- It seems to be undead, and is somehow being tortured by the creatures digging into its flesh
			- It apparently has the same runes as the Displacer Beasts, which keep the animals from teleporting
- The others find a person in one of the cages, who looks like he might have been skinned alive
	- He's actually alive
		- We try to get him out, and he says that the cult is trying to do something to destroy "the cities," says they're going to "disappear, like taking a bite out of something"
			- He has no more eyes, and just wants to die
				- He says this creature eats reality, it eats souls, it eats at your mind when you see it
